Clodou: an AI back office for freelancers

Turn instructions into business records, with human approval, an undo window and an activity log. Meet the product built by Hunter BI.

Finishing a project leaves another job to do: turn the work into an invoice, send it, follow up and record the payment. Clodou brings those steps into a conversation with an agent that acts inside a business application.

Designed and developed by Hunter BI, the enterprise AI consulting and engineering firm based in Casablanca, Clodou is now available online. It is an AI back office for freelancers, consultants, developers and small studios, initially focused on English-speaking markets.

For Hunter BI, the launch also puts our advice into practice. Human approval, undo, an activity log and MCP access are concrete product decisions. They shape what the agent can do and where a person remains responsible.

What happens when you ask Clodou to create an invoice?

Using sample data, the website demonstrates the instruction: “invoice Atlas for 3 days of consulting at $1,500 a day”.

Clodou creates a numbered PDF invoice from the information supplied. It sends the document after approval, follows up when the invoice is overdue and records the payment after confirmation. Quotes are also part of the workflow.

That sequence makes the role of an AI invoicing agent tangible. The conversation leads to records inside the application, carrying the work forward from a request to a document and its follow-up.

In total, Clodou provides 67 tools covering clients, quotes, invoices, payments, expenses, tasks, projects, time, deals, retainers, inventory and purchase orders. These are operations on business records. The user describes the work; the agent performs the available action within the product’s controls.

Where does it fit into a freelancer’s working day?

Business administration is a sequence of decisions. Which invoice needs attention? Has a payment arrived? Is a draft ready to send? Which expense still needs checking? An independent professional has to answer those questions alongside delivery work.

Each morning, Clodou provides a brief covering overdue invoices, payments due, today’s tasks and drafts waiting for attention. An email digest is optional. The brief gives the user a starting point for deciding what to handle next.

Receipts follow a similar pattern. Photograph a receipt, let the AI read it, then check the values before the expense is recorded. Invoices and reminders can leave from Gmail or Outlook after approval.

This AI back office for freelancers and small teams is intended for people who need those activities within a manageable scope. The useful evaluation is practical: follow a document through the workflow and examine the points where you review and confirm.

How does the agent act while people stay in control?

When software can send a message or change a payment record, the approval rule is part of the product. Clodou combines several controls, each addressing a different question.

Who authorises a sensitive action? In the approval-based workflow described here, recording a payment, marking an invoice paid, emailing a client, deleting an item, inviting someone or changing settings requires an owner or administrator’s approval. Preparing an action and authorising it remain separate steps.

Can a change be reversed? Most actions performed by the agent can be undone for ten minutes. That is a bounded recovery window, not a claim that every operation is reversible. It supports review; it does not remove the need to check a sensitive action before approving it.

Can you see what happened? The activity log tracks actions, including changes that were undone and operations awaiting approval. The resulting record helps a user understand the current state of the work instead of relying on their memory of the conversation.

Where do the amounts come from? The user supplies them. Clodou never invents a price and asks when required information is missing. The professional keeps responsibility for deciding what a service costs.

These controls express the governance approach Hunter BI advises for business AI: define the permitted operation, identify its decision-maker and retain a trace. The design becomes meaningful at the point where an instruction could affect someone’s records or communications.

Why include an MCP server for invoicing at launch?

Some of the people Clodou serves already work in Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor. A personal token lets those applications, or another MCP client, connect to the Clodou workspace.

The MCP server for invoicing exposes the same tools available in Clodou’s chat. The same approvals, undo mechanism and activity log apply. Access from another client therefore follows the product’s existing controls.

For a developer or small studio, the choice of interface can fit the way they already work. For Hunter BI, the architectural lesson is about consistency: moving an instruction between interfaces should preserve the rules around its execution.

MCP access should be considered alongside the wider working environment. Our guide to source-code security and controlled MCP tools explains why permissions and human review need explicit attention when coding assistants connect to other systems. That broader discipline is relevant when deciding which business operations to expose to an agent.

What should you check before choosing Clodou?

The interface is English-only. Moroccan dirham, MAD, is not supported. Clodou initially targets independent professionals and small teams in English-speaking markets, and those boundaries matter when assessing its suitability.

Supported currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, INR, SGD, ZAR and AED. Quotes and invoices use country-specific tax terminology, including sales tax, VAT, GST, GST/HST and Tax Invoice.

Appropriate terminology should not be confused with a compliance certification. Clodou does not claim compliance with Moroccan or French electronic invoicing requirements and does not replace an accountant. A PDF and a locally familiar tax label do not establish that every obligation applicable to a business has been met.

For Moroccan businesses, Hunter BI continues to deploy ChatGPT and Claude and connect them to existing software. Clodou is a defined product for a particular audience. An organisation with different language, currency or operational requirements needs a project scoped around those requirements. The product launch illustrates an approach to controlled agents; it does not make the product universally suitable.

What does Clodou cost, and how can you try it?

The following prices were listed on the website on 2 November 2026.

PlanListed priceScope stated here
Free$020 messages and 3 quotes or invoices in total per month; no card required.
Plus$19 per member per monthPaid subscription, charged per member.
Geek$49 per member per monthPaid subscription, charged per member.

Annual billing includes two months free. A refund can be requested within thirty days, subject to the product’s refund policy.

Free provides a way to inspect the workflow before choosing a paid plan. For a studio, the pricing unit is important: a member price is not a single flat charge for the whole team. Compare the published plan with the people who will use it and the work you want to perform.

What does building Clodou demonstrate about Hunter BI?

Building a product requires decisions that a general recommendation can leave open. Which action needs approval? What should happen when an amount is missing? How can a person reverse a change? What evidence remains after an agent acts?

Clodou makes those choices visible through its controls and MCP access. It connects Hunter BI’s consulting work with the engineering needed to turn an instruction into an operation inside software.

For client projects, the same questions belong in the initial scope. Our guide to evaluating AI agent workflows develops the principle of assessing tools against explicit criteria. A product launch is an example of implementation, not evidence of a guaranteed outcome for every organisation.

If Clodou’s audience, language and currencies match your needs, you can start free with Clodou and review the workflow for yourself.
